How to Cleanse Your Lungs

Today I am going to be giving you some tips on how to keep your lungs and respiratory system strong and healthy. You can go weeks without food, and days without water… but how long do you think you can survive without air? NOT LONG The average person takes breaths a minute, or about , breaths every day. Needless to say, your lungs are among your body’s most active organs. So, I want to cover some tips with you to encourage healthy lungs. First of all don’t smoke! This one is a no brainer. The harmful effects of tobacco smoke have been known for hundreds of years.

But really it wasn't until the industrial revolution, the big companies and chemical manufacturing that started spraying over different types of chemicals on tobacco. I actually did a study years ago. The study was on whether smoking caused cancer? And we actually could not find any cases of cancer dating back thousands of years that tobacco has been used in natural medicine and smoked by different cultures. But I am not here to say that smoking is good for you but we never saw cancer until the big corporations started using pesticides and herbicides to change the flavor of tobacco. Smoking fills your lungs with tar which is not good.

It exposes you to over different chemicals including carbon monoxide that destroy the mechanical function of your lungs and lead also which is one of the bring problems. Because all of those chemicals are found in the big company tobacco systems. They can cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema and even lung cancer. Bottom line - smoking is bad for your lungs and the lungs of everyone around you. Tip number two would be Lung Cleansing Exercises. I think it is really important just like you go to the gym and do the bicep curls, or Pilates or yoga to strengthen your arms or stretch your muscles. Breathing exercises can strengthen your lungs. I am a big fan of deep breathing exercises.

One of the least discussed bad habits that affects so many people is shallow breathing. Shallow breathing is a self descriptive term and it’s really common, especially for people who work at a desk or aren’t very active. It makes your lungs lazy and robs your body of health-promoting oxygen. We are already seeing a decrease in the amount of oxygen available in the world today. Oxygen is the number one cleansing element in the world. We have gone from % oxygen in the air. Down to, in some cities, around %. It is the ultimate cleanser and the ultimate healing agent. But people aren't active, aren't strengthening their lungs, the oxygen capacity goes down especially with shallow breathing.

Deep breathing exercises are a great way to counteract this and encourage you to take more worthwhile breaths. I recommend that once, twice, a day, find a quiet place and do a series of deep breathing exercises to strengthen your lungs and give your body a solid dose of oxygen. I tell people to do this also when they are stressed out because the fastest way to bring your body from a sympathetic state, a fight or flight state, to a parasympathetic state, calm and relaxed state is through deep breathing exercises. So what I do is close my eyes, take a deep breath through my nose. Breathing from the lower lungs not the upper lungs. and out through my mouth. Like this... So that is how you do it. I usually do it nine times and on the ninth one; I can just feel the calmness come over my whole body.

Next, what a lot of people don't know is that you can eat lung cleansing and strengthening foods. Lung health has a nutritional element to it and pistachios, plantain leaf, and cayenne pepper are all foods that help support the lungs. Pistachios contain gamma-tocopherol, a type of vitamin E that’s thought to reduce the risk of lung cancer. Plantain leaf -- you find this a lot in South American cuisine -- is useful for easing lung congestion. And cayenne, which is one of my favorite things and is great for everything; has a ton of benefits, relieves irritation and inflammation -- this can be especially nice when you’re suffering from a cough or sore throat. The next tip for strengthening your lungs is to reduce your exposure to indoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution is one of the major toxic compounds found in homes and also in businesses. It is a big problem.

Building construction has become so efficient that most homes and buildings are airtight and trap pollutants inside the home or office. In fact, over , types of mold and mildew alone can contaminate the air in your home, and that’s just the start. You have mold, mildew, most cleaning products. I recommend you check the warning label and if you can't understand or you don't know what the ingredients are in any cleaning products even cleaning products for your own body -- soap, shampoo, conditioner, dish washing detergent, laundry detergent, and other cleaning products you use around the house are all loaded with cancer causing agents. They contain toxic VOC’s which are volatile organic compounds and harmful fumes.

If you get new carpet in your house, or new paint--or in your office building. Those are toxic to the lungs and causes lung damage over time. I recommend putting live plants in your home and office. Two or three plants in each room. Because plants are going to absorb those toxins. and plants produce oxygen. Increasing the oxygen in your air. Replace all your toxic household cleaning products with organic ones, like Branch Basics, and I use an indoor air purification system known as the REME unit. That is not a product that I made. It is actually a product produced by another United States company To help detoxify and purify the air. It is cost effective and anybody can use it.

There are also a lot of stand alone units you can get out there. Just read the reviews and look. The main point is to purify the air in your home and office if you are stuck in there all day. Something that I have used in the past for people with COPD, or any other type of lung conditions are Castor Oil Packs over the lungs. It is an old remedy for stimulating lymphatic circulation, which is one of the ways your body detoxifies itself. Similar to vicks vapor rub, there are remedies out there where you rub it on your lungs. Vicks Vapor Rub is nothing but petroleum jelly.

I highly discourage you using that because it is toxic but what you can do is place the caster oil packs directly on your chest or you can put it on your side when laying on your side. You can put it over one of your lungs -- to help break up congestion, toxins, and draw things out. It is really amazing the benefits I have seen of using caster oil packs over the lungs. They’re easy to make and work great. Sometimes, we have used caster oil packs over the lungs of heavy smokers within to minutes the pack are completely black from removing all of the garbage from inside the lungs.

I wrote an article on how to make and use the caster oil pack specifically for lung cleansing. The next tip is using lung cleansing herbs. Herbs like oregano, eucalyptus, lovage, peppermint, lungwort, chaparral, and lobelia all contain antioxidants, and other phytochemicals that are incredible to support healthy lungs and not only that if your lungs are healthy...you are going to be able to take in more oxygen, breathe better, exercise better and there are so many other benefits. You can get these in different tinctures and extracts but make sure they are organic or wild crafted under organic conditions Or if you are interested,I have already put together a herbal formula for your lungs,

You can read the reviews. We have gotten incredible reviews with it. It is all natural and I personally use it on a regular basis. Because I live in Houston and I have to deal with the air outside which is not the best air in the world. There you have it, my top lung strengthening, lung nutrition, lung detox support tips. That will strengthen and keep your lungs healthy.
